We have many mourning doves at our feeders. Depending on the time of the year, we’ve counted up to 50 mourning doves. We lost one about a month ago. It saddens us. We’ve also witnessed a cooper’s hawk fly away with a red squirrel, twice. With life comes death, whether we like it or not. I’ve been busy with work, but I did find some time to draw the deceased mourning dove. I like to think it died peacefully and that, in some way, I’m making it immortal with this drawing.
