I hope you’re having as much fun as I am creating during the Holidays. It’s a great time to be doing things you normally wouldn’t do. I wish you all the best!
It’s been about six months, working on “Cut Flowers”. A companion zine to my “Cut Women” from 2020. A small edition of ten copies. I plan on finishing this summer. It takes a long time to make because there are so many steps in producing this zine:
Taking pictures of the plants in our garden and our home
Printing and making collages, scanning collages
Book layout (InDesign)
Printing the pages
Cutting each page individually, folding
Stamping my signature
Punching holes for coptic binding
Flattening
Binding with a thread
Binding with glue
Flattening and letting dry
I made a collage for the cover of Camille Garant-Aubry’s book “Ceci n’est pas un jardin”. Thank you les éditions La mèche and an especially big thank you to the artistic director Julie Massy for the trust given to me. The book is out now.
This is old but great news! Scott, Brandtner, Eveleigh, Webber : revoir l’abstraction montréalaise des années 1940, written by the fabulous Esther Trépanier, won an award for best exhibition catalogue at the UAAC/AAUC 2023 Book Prize. Yay!! What does this have to do with me? I designed the book. Yay again!!

I loooooooove collecting images and printing them on my laser printer. It doesn’t mean I’m going to make a collage out of them. I just collect.
